1. Information We Collect

HabShift is a local-first app. Most data is stored only on your device. We collect:

• Device identifier: A randomly generated anonymous ID used to sync your data across devices when you opt in to cloud backup.
• Habit & completion data: Stored locally on your device and, if cloud sync is enabled, encrypted on our servers.
• Display name: Optional, used only for social features (global leaderboard, world boss).
• Subscription status: Processed through Stripe. We do not store payment details.
• AI coach messages: Sent to our server to generate responses. Not stored permanently.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To provide and improve the HabShift experience
• To sync your data across your devices (if opted in)
• To process subscriptions and restore purchases
• To power social and community features (optional)
• To send habit reminders and achievement notifications (with your permission)

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising. We may share data with:

• Stripe: For payment processing (governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy)
• Google: For optional Google Sign-In (governed by Google's Privacy Policy)
• AI services: Anonymized habit context sent to generate coaching responses

4. Data Retention

Local data is retained on your device until you delete the app. Cloud backup data is retained for up to 2 years of inactivity, after which it may be purged. You can delete your data at any time from Settings → Delete Account.

5. Notifications

HabShift may send push notifications for habit reminders and achievements. You can enable or disable these at any time in your device Settings or within HabShift's Settings screen.

6. Children's Privacy

HabShift is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

7. Security

We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit. Cloud backups are stored securely and accessible only via your device ID.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to access, export, or delete your data. Use Settings → Export Data or contact us at support@myhashtag.io.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. Significant changes will be communicated in-app. Continued use of HabShift after changes constitutes acceptance.
